Overnight a perfect blanket of snow fell over the city. Now it is after dark, and regrettably no pictures were taken. Hopefully it will stay on the ground until tomorrow, but until then, here is a gratuitous cat picture instead:
Lately mornings have been dusted with a glittering layer of frost. The low beams of early sunlight catching all of those tiny sparkles are the one thing that I truly enjoy photographing this time of year. Between autumn’s fiery parade and winter’s velvety white blankets of snow, there is a time when I am not easily tempted to take off my gloves and pull out my camera. Carefully layered woollens and barely warm hands are not often sacrificed for the sake of a few pictures. But when there is a touch of frost and a beautiful light, I suddenly feel ready to bask in their glow.

Boy, it’s been awhile since I’ve shown my face around here. I realized I hadn’t shared my new 2013 calendars with you yet. The template was courtesy of RaceyTay, without whom I may have never gotten these done. All of that formatting is a total headache for me! They are a loose leaf 5x7 photo calendar, ready for you to frame on your desk or pin to the refrigerator. When the year is over, each page is its own piece of art- just cut off the dates at the bottom and place in a 5x5 frame. I’ve also decided to have a giveaway; see the details below…
To win a copy of this calendar, here are a few of your options for entering:
